PLASSON METER CONNECTION POINTS ABOVE & BELOW GROUND
What is a Plasson Meter Connection Point?Water meters have been legally required at every domestic dwelling since 1990, and they’re designed to help prevent water wastage that costs utilities and businesses millions of pounds every year. While the meter is compulsory there are a number of ways to fit the meter depending on the site and its constraints, while still remaining compliant. The Drainage Shop stocks a variety of solutions to help you fit your water meter, including the Plasson meter connection point, while ensuring that it works effectively without leaks, while protecting the meter itself and keeping it accessible for checking and inspection any time. What Options Are In The Plasson Meter Connection Point Range?Traditionally the most common method for siting a Plasson meter connection point is outside the dwelling under the ground between the mains water supply and the domestic system, which is why it is called a boundary box. The boundary box is designed to be strong and sealed to protect the meter inside from adverse weather and ground water, and is then connected to an mcp that the meter plugs into and is capable of being isolated. It is a meter tall and designed to be buried so that the connection point is at the same level as the underground water pipes. At the Drainage Shop we have an excellent range of boundary boxes and Plasson meter connection point options that are perfect for any domestic dwelling, this range includes Meter Adjustable Boundary Box (3543) 25mm MDPE x 25mm MDPE (Pushfit), Meter Adjustable Boundary Box (3544) For Contaminated Ground ¾” BSP Connections, Meter Boundary Box Cast Lid (3513) 25mm MDPE x 25mm MDPE, and Meter Boundary Box Plastic Lid (3514) 25mm MDPE x 25mm MDPE. We stock two varieties of standard Plasson meter connection point options, one with a plastic lid and one with a cast iron lid, which is able to withstand heavier loads on top of it. All of our boundary boxes are made from high quality plastic that is designed to protect the meter inside from the elements and from standing water, even in adverse weather conditions, while also protecting it from frost and extreme heat, and they both come pre-installed with 25 x 25mm Plasson mcp systems. We also stock a second variety of Plasson meter connection point products that is designed to be used in contaminated ground that must be kept away from the water supply, such as in brownfield sites. This is made from sealed heavy duty plastic and both units are adjustable so that you can vary the depth, and while one has a push-fit connection the other has BSP connections Alongside the boundary boxes themselves we also stock a range of mcp systems which meet British Standards, having sealed connections to the meter as well as pipe connectors that can work with pipes of various different materials, giving you maximum flexibility. These Plasson universal couplers and Plasson meter connection point products also posses a whole range of benefits linked to the different materials, such as high durability and elemental resistance. What Size Of Plasson Meter Connection Point Are Available? As standard the boundary boxes come with 25 x 25mm meter connection points installed, but we also sell different sized meter connection points depending on your needs.
